ALLEYN Court School enjoyed a day to remember at the ISA National Triathlon.

The Southend school’s boys and girls squads both won the team events while Sophie Galbraith was crowned individual champion.

The competition, held at Brentwood’s Woodlands School, included a 90 metre swim, a 600 metre cycle and a 600m metre run and it was Sophie who finished first.

Ellie Williams came fifth, Daisy Williams 12th, Madison Search 20th, Olivia Chapman 21st and Georgia Williamson 50th.

In the boys section, Alex Ley finished fourth, Lucas Smith fifth, Arun Fitzgerald 13th, George Ley 16th, Matthew Galbraith 17th and Thomas Dean 25th.

The boys team finished in a time of 33.21 minutes while the girls ended on 34.25 minutes.

Alleyn Court are also celebrating after receiving a School Games Gold award. They were randomly selected for a validation visit and were praised for having an outstanding sports provision in place.
