PUPILS at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Primary School in Rayleigh are celebrating a hat trick of sporting success in just one week.

At the start of July (4th) the school came first in the Key Stage 2 Rayleigh & Rochford District Athletics competition at Garon Park, winning the shield for the first time in 27 years.

Just two days later they enjoyed further success, winning the annual District Swimming competition at Clements Hall, in Hawkwell.

And the youngsters finished the week in style a day after that, winning the Southend Catholic Deanery Primary Schools Athletics event at St Thomas More High School in Westcliff.

And the remarkable achievement has been lauded by Head Teacher Paul Parascandolo.

“We are delighted to have taken part in three magnificent sporting events, sharing great talent and fabulous sporting behaviour with all of the children in our local area,” said Mr Parascandolo. “The staff and parents from all of the schools should be extremely proud of the children who took part.”
