WESTCLIFF’S St Hilda’s School are marching towards more cross-country glory.
The Imperial Avenue school were at the the Independent Schools’ Association’s Regional Championships at New Eccles Hall School in Norwich. And, of the 31 girls that ran, 12 finished in the top 10 for their age group to qualify for the national final to be held at Princethorpe College, Rugby, on February 26.
In the years five and sixth race, Darcey Hill came home in fifth place and is the first junior to reach the national final for St Hilda’s in five years.
For the seniors, Sarah Imbush stormed ahead of the field to win the years nine and 10 age group and Summer Dann finished third. Camilla Smee dominated the years 11, 12 and 13 age group to get yet another gold to add to her collection, having won every year she has competed in the event apart from a silver on one occasion. The following girls will be competing at the national finals: Darcey Hill, Ella Rimington-Hicks, Rosie Imbush, Sarah Jackson, Sarah Imbush, Summer Dann, Molly Randle, Camilla Smee, Sarah Hume, Anna Weingarten, Lucia Prinsloo and Hollie Downs.
