Rochford Hundred Rugby Club hosted a Year Five and Six tag rugby festival for the Castle Point and Rochford School Sports Partnership.
The event was attended by 12 primary schools who all displayed superb skills and determination.
The group stages were highly competitive with all the teams striving for a place in the semi-finals.
And, after a tense wait, the fourth semi-final place even came down to score difference.
The first semi-final saw Hadleigh Junior School victorious against Thundersley Primary School while St Margaret’s Primary School defeated Rayleigh Primary School in the other half of the draw.
The final was an exciting encounter between two talented teams and, for much of the match, the action was end to end.
But in the latter stages it was Hadleigh who proved too strong and won the competition overall.
They will now take part in the county finals in Harlow in January.
