South Benfleet Primary School ran their rivals ragged to win the first ever Castle Point and Rochford School Sport Partnership District Cross Country festival.

The school's year five and six boys and girls both performed superbly.

And that delighted their sports teacher Wendy Bellenie.

"We're very pleased and proud of everyone who took part," she said.

"They gave 100 per cent and worked incredibly hard.

"It was a real team effort and that's why they won."
