Southend Girls enjoy triple success
SOUTHEND High School for Girls dominated the Southend Schools' Borough Netball Tournament for years seven and eight.
They won the cup competition for both age groups and also collected the year seven plate prize.
In year seven they won the cup with Westcliff High second, Eastwood third and St Bernards fourth.
Their team, captained by Alice Casey, consisted of Phoebe Kent, Amber Franklin, Blaisie Copeland, Katie Willis, Millie Knowles, Holly Baker and Poppy Lake.
The B team, which won the plate, was skippeed by Sophie Raffan and consisted of Aliah Ullah, Rosie Warwick Brown, Eva Hunt, Georgia Lamkin, Catherine Divine, Joella Yeap, and Sophie Humfries.
Southend High won this plate from Shoebury A with Westcliff B and St Hilda's.
The year eight cup went to Southend High from St Bernards with Westcliff A third and Shoebury A fourth.
The year eight cup was won by Southend High from St Bernards, Westcliff A and Shoebury A with a team of Poppie Bouch (captain), Kelly Clark, Vicky Leigh Schultz, Annie Harding, Emily Robinson, Leanne Marshall and Bethany Goldfinch.
Year eight plate winners were Eastwood from St Hilda's with Westcliff High B third and Cecil Jones B fourth.
The tournament was played in very good spirit and cups, plates and medals were sponsored by the Southend Schools' Partnership.
