IT was like the Generation Game when Wickford Tennis Club held its summer finals on Sunday.
Finalists aged from 15 to more than 70 at the Swan Lane club and despite early rain, all seven finals were completed.
The men’s singles was won by David Crawford who defeated Dan Elliott 6-1 4-6 6-3.
Mikki Allen beat Nicola Thain 6-3 6-3 to win the ladies’ singles.
The men’s doubles was won by Alexis Van Costenobel and Mudassar Rahim.
They defeated Rory Young and Bob Chapman 4-6 7-6 10-7.
Jo Rifat and Tricia Goddard took the ladies’ doubles title, beating Mikki Allen and Pat Baker 3-6 6-0 10-5.
The Clark Trophy mixed doubles was won by Mikki and Michael Allen.
They beat Glynis Exley and Jef Rifat 4-6 6-2 10-7 to lift the silverware.
David Crawford and John Kirk won the veteran men’s doubles, defeating Ken Ellis and Dave Goodman 6-1 4-6 12-10.
Finally, the veterans’ singles saw victory for Dave Goodman over David Crawford 6-2 1-6 6-3.
