WESTCLIFF Lawn II put themselves in pole position in the race for The League Division Five championship by beating title rivals Kent Elms IV.
Lawn pulled off a 4-2 win away to Elms to depose them from the top of the table and take over as leaders on games difference.
Westcliff have a plus 108 game advantage, four more than Elms, with both teams being equal on sets and points.
Things started in Elms’ favouor with Dawn Collins and Judy Chambers beating Glynnis Williams and Wendy Edwards 6-0 6-1.
But Mike Fahie-Wilson and Richard Carey squared the match in the men's rubber with a 6-2 6-0 win over Ken Clark and Phil Benton.
And the mixed rubber saw Mick Fuller and Dee Watt secure the victory for Lawn after defeating Mark Peters and Pat Rogers 6-3 6-1.
