WESTCLIFF Lawn maintained their one point advantage in the battle for The League Division Two championship.

Lawn head Thorpe Bay II by a single point going into the final match of the summer season after both clubs recorded 5-1 wins.

Westcliff travelled to Rochford and saw W Bristow and Gill Sanderson beat Wendy Hackett and Olivia Woolston 6-2 6-0.

Jack Farrell and Rob Scott Jnr pulled a set back for the hosts as they drew 2-6 6-4 with D Sanderson and Eddie Lamb.

But Geoff Spillett and Andrea Spillett wrapped things up for Lawn with a 6-0 6-0 win over Richard Warner and Tracey Nelson.

Over at Watchfield Lane, Rayleigh II were hosting Thorpe Bay II and got off to a good start with Judy Barham and Jean Catley drawing 1-6 6-3 with Sue Quinland and Heather Clarke.

But Simon Payne and John Blackman put Thorpe in front with a 6-2 6-1 win over Andy Forsyth and Roger Chambers.

And Ann Murray and Mike Nevin secured the victory with a 6-0 6-2 win over Claire Todman and Geoff Barham.
