Third round spot in bag for Hard
WESTCLIFF Hardcourts' ladies' team have made the third round of the Essex LTA's Harry Brickwood Cup following a second round win over Whitehall.
The winning team comprised Karen Poole, Fiona Stone, Sue Hookway, Dawn Handelaar, Sue Blackshaw & Linda Vaughan.
Hard's ladies' third team lost 3-1 to a Thorpe Bay first team that included two county players. Sarah Needham and Ashlee Tyrrell were among the winning Thorpe side in the Essex County Division Three match.
Twelve-year-old Alice Stone made her debut ladies Essex match and played with her mum, Fiona Stone. Cezera Dane and Drucie Redman completed the Hard team.
The Hard vets second team of Ian Hookway, Andy Cox, Terry Taylor and Dave Blunt beat Woodford Wells 3-1.
