MK Dons are coming to Roots Hall tomorrow night and they have been a bit of a bogey team for us.

We haven’t beaten them in the six games we’ve had since they formed and it’s strange how these things work out.

Even when we were going for promotion a few years ago and they were fighting against relegation we still couldn’t beat them and it would be nice to change that.

Previous games count for nothing and once you’re out on the pitch you’re certainly not thinking about the fact we haven’t beaten them before.

You’re concentrating on what’s happening and the matches we’ve lost against them are now irrelevant.

Saying that though, we lost in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at their place last month and we were very poor that night so it would be great to put that right.

It won’t be easy though because MK Dons are a strong side who are doing well again this season and I think they will be there or thereabouts come May.

>THINGS are difficult for us at the moment and could be for quite a while now.

We’re having to constantly chop and change our defence and that is making things hard for us.

We will continue to dig in though and I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere inside the ground tomorrow because Friday night games are always special.

We’re also determined to bounce back from losing at Yeovil so we can start to move back up the table.

>THERE has been plenty of banter flying around the training ground lately involving Alan McCormack, Francis Laurent and Jean-Francois Christophe.

It is centres around the World Cup play-off involving France and Ireland and they have been giving each other plenty of stick.

The second leg was due to be played last night with France leading 1-0 from the first game but I hope Ireland were able to turn it around.

If they weren’t though then Jeff (Christophe) has told us he has something planned for Macca so it could be an interesting few days.

>ON behalf of the rest of players I would like to say how proud we are that Lee Barnard has been voted through to the next round of X Factor.

As was revealed in this column last week, Barney is actually part of the Jedward act and we’re so pleased he’s stayed in the competition for another week.

He’s become very close to Louis Walsh and we’re starting to think he might be able to win it.

We’re all rooting for him and the message from us is to please keep on voting for Barney!
