JEAN-FRANCOIS Christophe admitted there was no way he could claim his side's opening goal against MK Dons on Friday night.

The French midfielder was originally credited with the equaliser which came following a dangerous free kick from Johnny Herd.

But it was later changed to an Aaron Wilbraham own goal and Christophe begrudgingly confirmed that was the correct decision.

“I wasn't really anywhere near it,” said Christophe.

“I didn't touch the ball and it was definitely an own goal, unfortunately.

“It was great that it helped us win the game though and this is a very good win for us because MK Dons are a good, strong team.

“We've worked very hard and we have to keep it going because we aren't in any of the cup competitions anymore.”

The win also made it a memorable week for Christophe whose national side qualified for next summer's World Cup with a controversial midweek win over Ireland.

“It has been a good few days for me,” said Christophe.

“France have qualified for the World Cup and we've beaten MK Dons so I'm very happy.”

And Christophe has also enjoyed reminding Irish team-mate Alan McCormack about France's success.

“Just say we will see him again in four years,” joked Christophe.
