CRAIG Easton has been confirmed as Southend United's new captain.

The 31-year-old midfielder has previously worked with Blues boss Paul Sturrock at Dundee United and Swindon Town.

“He is 31-years-old and has played nearly 400 games.

He has a terrific work ethic and, although he hasn’t been a captain before, he will grow in to the role I’m sure.”
