WE’RE now half way through the season and I think it’s fair to say we have been up, down and indifferent so far.

It’s nothing that I didn’t expect to happen but we’re at least four points below where I wanted us to be at this stage.

It has been a very difficult five or six months so far and our injury problems haven’t helped with that.

Our home form has also been a real problem but from the Burton game onwards we’ve won more games than we’ve lost and the aim is to now make that continue.

For that to happen we simply have to address our form at Roots Hall, especially as seven of our next ten games are at home.

Most teams would be licking their lips at that kind of fixture list but not us at the moment.

We’re all aware of our poor record and we have been trying one or two different things in training which I think will make us a better team at home.

I don’t want to give too much away about what we’re doing but we have been using the same players, just in different ways.

I know when clubs have been in these kind of situations before they have tried to make their home games feel like they are still playing away.

They will meet up for pre-match meals and travel to the match together on a coach but we haven’t got to that stage yet.

We’re working hard to solve this ourselves but I wouldn’t rule anything out.

Even if I have to get down and pray in both penalty areas I will do because if our home form improves we can really start to move up the table during the second half of the season.

At the moment there is an apprehension among players and fans about being at Roots Hall and we need to lose that.

It won’t be easy to do tomorrow because Bury are a good team and are doing well this season. They have some good and dangerous players but we can go in to the game full of confidence.

When we played them before they were on top during the first half but we dictated the second.

We have also been very competitive against the top teams this season and we want to keep that going against Bury, but this time with a better result.
