The Blues
Barrett's Banter

THERE has been a lot of talk surrounding respecting referees in football just lately and I agree that it is something which needs to be improved on.
It can be frustrating when the officials make a bad decision but it does not excuse teams surrounding the ref and having a right go at them.
The Premier League teams do it and the problem is it gets screened on national television and the youngsters playing park football on a Sunday then go out and copy it.
It's not on really and I think we could learn a lot from rugby. Nothing like that goes on when they play and I can't see any reason why we shouldn't be able to do something similar in football.
I think just having the captains talking to the ref would work as well but I certainly agree that something does need to be done to stamp out what's going on at the moment.
Closer to home, we face another massive match against Walsall tomorrow.
They have their own aspirations of getting into the play-offs and it should make for an interesting afternoon.
We go into the game on the back of a good win at Swindon, where we were delighted to get a clean sheet.
We haven't had as many shut-outs as we would have liked this season but we defend as a team.
And since the line-up has become more balanced and settled it is no coincidence that our record at the back has improved.
Simon Francis got the goal at Swindon but he's taken a lot of stick over his celebration.
He tried to run away from the rest of the lads but James Walker pulled him to the ground and it looked like something out of Dancing on Ice.
He fell to the floor like it was the end of the Bolero and it certainly gave us all a laugh, just like his beard!
Franno still hasn't shaved it off and it's shocking. Our youth team manager Ricky Duncan has shown him the way with a proper man's beard but Franno can't quite do it yet as he's still going through puberty!
