New-deal Moussa is up for Doncaster task
PROMISING midfielder Franck Moussa hopes to celebrate signing a new Shrimpers contract by playing a part in tonight's second leg at Doncaster Rovers.
The teenage Belgian, who has extended his current deal until the end of the 2009/10 season, was an unused substitute when the sides met at Roots Hall seven days ago in a goalless draw.
But he could well figure this evening if manager Steve Tilson opts to alter the shape of his midfield in a bid to stifle the hosts.
"A draw was a good result for us last week and it would be great to be involved tonight," said Moussa.
"The second leg is just another game for us though. We will have good support and we have nothing to fear."
Doncaster impressed with their extra man in the middle of the park during the first leg.
And that could lead to Moussa figuring for Blues as they bid to secure a place in the final at Wembley.
"I didn't realise that the play-off final was at the new Wembley until a few months ago, so if we could get there and play that would be amazing," he said.
"When I was growing up in Belgium you got to see a lot of the FA Cup and it was always a big occasion in our household.
"Because of that it's been my dream to play at Wembley one day and that adds to the motivation to make sure we win tonight."
Moussa has made 21 appearances so far this season for the Seasiders and is hungry for further opportunities.
"I would like to think that when I have played I have done well," said Moussa.
"A new season will bring a new start for everyone and hopefully that will be in the Championship for us next year," added the 18-year-old midfielder.
