SOUTHEND town centre will benefit from £12million of Thames Gateway cash to make the area more attractive for new businesses and developers.
Possible plans focus on improving Victoria Circus with more outdoor seating, trees and a water feature.
Speaking from the forum meeting Mike Lambert, Renaissance Southend chief executive, said it wasn't clear exactly how much of the £12million would be spent on different schemes.
However, he said the main areas to be improved as well as Victoria Circus would be the seafront from the pier along Eastern Esplanade.
Other parts of the town earmarked for rejuvenation are Warrior Square and the area between the High Street and Nelson Street including Clarence Street, Clarence Road, Cliff Town Road and Weston Road.
Mr Lambert said: "At the moment, part of the masterplan is to reconfigure the roundabout by Victoria Circus to improve the access into the High Street."
