HACKING
Epping Forest is an area of ancient woodland in south-east England, straddling the border between north-east Greater London and Essex. It is a former royal forest, and is managed by the City of London Corporation. The forest lies on a ridge between the valleys of the rivers Lea and Roding. Epping Forest covers over 6000 splendid, verdant acres and is a deciduous forest with Oak, Beech, Birch and Hornbeam trees predominant.

Horse riding is permitted on Epping Forest although all horse riders must display a valid licence. Due to this we have a Hacking fee which is applicable to all hacks. It is renewable 1st April every year. The fee is £5 per hack or for regulars a £20 per year fee is cheaper.

There are currently over 50 miles of surfaced and un-surfaced rides throughout the Forest and, during the summer months, most of the northern area of the Forest is open for free-range riding Woodredon Equestrian Centre is a family run, purpose built riding school and livery yard sited in approximately 45 acres.

We are approved by The ABR(Association of British Riding Schools) and the BHS (British Horse Society). IN 2008 we were also included in the London 2010 Olympics Pre-Games Training Camp Guide. Our experienced team of qualified instructors have many years experience in teaching people to ride through all stages and levels, from absolute beginner to accomplished competitor.
