Youth council set up to curb trouble on island

A NEW youth council has been set up on Canvey, to help curb trouble on the island.
Castle Point Youth Council, a joint project by Castle Point and Essex County councils, will formally launch on Tuesday, October 14, with the aim of giving young people a voice in the community.
The teenage council hopes to work with councillors, schools and libraries to provide a youthful outlook on events and ongoing issues in the borough.

Remember the Youth Project by Mr Winkworth youth leader at least he tried hard but finances let him down he often needed resources but they were often never given.
This has happened so many times over the last 20 years and it has never achieved anything of significance other than make good reading for a politicaly motivated report or documnent!!!! Or it just makes a few busy bodies feel good talking about damage graffiti and cycling on the footpath or even yet another druug awareness or drug prevention group.
And still the mindless minority do what they always do and spoil it for the majority.
Canvey has always had a minority yob problem and always will until a deterrent sentence is handed out for the continual offenders.
