On Friday 18th April 2008, Year 7 students at Furtherwick Park School, A Specialist College for the Media Arts were involved in a Medieval Day'. Year 7 students were educated and entertained by Arriane-bann Theatre Company, experts in the medieval period.
The group performed in medieval costume and brought in historical artefacts from the period, such as the stocks'. Numerous topics were covered including: Kings and Queens, Disease and Medicine, The Royal Courts, Fashion, Crime and Punishment and Medieval Warfare.
Mr Matthew Elliott, Teacher of Humanities said "Students have thoroughly enjoyed today's learning experience, in medieval times. Thank you to Arriane-bann Theatre Company for putting on a great performance for our students".
Molly Perkins and Jack Petty, Year 7 students said "We really enjoyed being on stage and wearing some of the costumes from medieval times".
