WORK has started on the second phase of a £700,000 modernisation project at Shoebury station.
National Express train operator c2c is working to improve access and facilities for passengers.
The improvement works, which will take around two months, will bring a modern, wider entrance to the booking hall to replace the station’s current “shed” entrance, a new canopy roof over the entrance, new customer and staff toilets, to replace the current facilities in a temporary block, and new non-slip flooring for the booking office.
