Fundraiser for toiletry bags

THE LADIES of the Inner Wheel Club have been busy donating toiletry bags to Southend Hospital.

Pat Liggins and Jean Peacock, club members of the Inner Wheel Club of Leigh, put together toiletry bags with the proceeds of fundraising events and donations from club members.

Sister Fiona Mowatt, the Rochford Ward Manager, said: “We are delighted to receive the bags of toiletries once again this year and thank the ladies of the Inner Wheel Club of Leigh for their hard work and generosity.

“Rochford ward is a general medical ward and quite often patients arrive as emergency admissions without toiletries or clothes. It means such a lot to patients to be given all the items they need.”

This is the third year that the club has supported the Rochford Ward, providing toiletries for patients admitted to the ward without the items they need for their stay.

Past President, Heather Feather, said: “Although the club supports several charities, both nationally and internationally, we also like to support a local good cause. Once again I would like to thank members for supporting this project.”
