The open garden trail for St Luke’s Hospice will include numbers 5, 10, 11 and 16, and will run on Sunday, June 26, from 2pm to 6pm.

Tina Rose’s garden is adorned with hydrangeas, peonies, roses, delphiniums as well as a pretty flat peach tree. Features include a patio leading to an archway with a variety of tress and foliage. There is also a seating area with cascading fuchsias, a perfect place to sit and take in the views.

“We don’t have huge gardens, mine is 40 foot long, and so we decided to open four gardens in the close as part of a trail so that visitors can dip in and out and see all of them,” explained Tina.

“I am taking part for my friend Sandra, who I have known for many years, and who is part of the open garden committee for St Luke’s. She is such an amazing lady who has so much energy and is so committed to what she does. It  is also great to be able to do something to help support our local hospice.”

Neighbour Sheila is also part of the trail and is looking forward to inviting in visitors.

“I have a circular garden with a circularpath,itis whatI would call wild with various plants and flowers and with have lots of wildlife like foxes and birds,” said Sheila.

“There is a pergola in the middle of the garden with lights and a heater which I will decorate withvasesof flowersontheday.”

Refreshments will be available on the day and there will be a raffle.

“We are looking forward to seeing lots of people on the day and raising funds for St Luke’s Hospice, which does so much for people in the community,” said Sheila.

The Torney Close Trail will run at Torney Close, Great Berry, Basildon, on June 26 from 2pm to 6pm.
