POLICE were called to a busy road in Leigh this morning after a child was hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash in London Road this morning near the junction with Eastwood Road.
This was after reports a child was hit by a car close to West Leigh Junior School.
Thankfully, no serious injuries were recorded.
Essex Police says its enquiries are ongoing.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in London Road, Southend, shortly after 8.15am this morning.
“No serious injuries were reported.
“Our enquiries are continuing.”
