CLOSE to 2,000 runners will be taking part in the Southend Half Marathon on Sunday.
The 13.1-mile race, which starts and finishes at Shoebury East Beach, is taking place for the first time since 2019.
And Jane Hopkins, organiser of the event at Havens Hospices is looking forward to the day.
She said: “We’re excited to be welcoming back runners to the Southend Half Marathon so we can continue to raise vital funds towards our essential hospice care after a challenging two years of fundraising.”
Every runner taking part will be supporting Havens Hospices which includes Fair Havens in Southend on Sea and Little Havens in Benfleet.
The local hospice charity cares for children, young people and adults living with complex or incurable conditions in Essex.
