NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight south Essex establishments; the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from five to zero, with five being hygiene standards are very good, and zero being urgent improvement is required.
Here are the establishments in south Essex that have been awarded a new hygiene rating:
Southend:
Caddies at 12 London Road, Southend was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 22
Grind and Grape at 1221 London Road, Leigh was handed a three-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 22.
Ru's Bubble Waffles, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at 117 Leigh Road, Leigh was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 21.
Shoebury Chinese Takeaway, a takeaway at 87 Ness Road, Shoebury was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 21.
Basildon:
Munchy Chicken, at 18 South Walk, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 25.
Subway, at Whitmore Way Filling Station, Whitmore Way, Basildon was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 15.
The Bistro, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Phoenix House, Christopher Martin Road, Basildon was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 21.
Bay Leaf, a takeaway at 10 Morris Avenue, Billericay was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 21.
