Police have responded to an unusual incident - a horse and trap being ridden down the busy A127.
Police were called to a report of a horse and trap being ridden on the A127 yesterday, with officers from Wickford and Billericay community policing team attending and locating the rider.
A police spokesman said: "Whilst it is not against the Road Traffic Act for horse and trap to be ridden on this section of road, the trap was not fitted with the correct reflective equipment nor was the driver wearing high visibility clothing.
"Appropriate advice was given and warnings were provided, the horse and rider were then escorted safety back to the stables."
