LEIGH Community Centre hosted a magical day of Harry Potter-inspired crafts and activities for all the young witches and wizards in the town.

The children, aged between three and ten, were welcomed into the centre, in Elm Road, to get creative and let their imagination run wild.

The event was called the Wizarding week of Witchcraft.

The children all arrived for the day dressed up in their spookiest costumes with the Halloween season looming.

Leigh’s primary school pupils enjoyed the day on Tuesday while off on their October half term holiday.

They got stuck into making their own wands and owls, sending owl male as well as being sorted into their own Hogwarts house.

Although the day was messy work for the children as they drew, glued and decorated their creations, it was smiles all round for the visiting youngsters. The children left the centre on Tuesday afternoon with their own artworks and wands ready for the terrifying Halloween season.

The children were also able to play with puzzles with support from volunteers and parents

The day was hosted by The Art Ministry, based in Hadleigh.

The group runs regular arts and crafts days for children and adults across Essex.

Art Ministry’s aim of the day was to help children to make friends and boost their self confidence.
