A new sand and gravel quarry at Broadfield Farm, to the west of Rayne, near Braintree, comprising the phased extraction of some 3.66 metres tonnes of sand and gravel; the installation of processing plant and ancillary buildings and infrastructure; the construction of a quarry access onto the B1256; the construction of a permanent screening landform; the construction of temporary screen mounds in defined locations around the perimeter of the quarry; the phased restoration of the extraction area using indigenous soils; overburden and clay from within the application site to a land use mixture of arable agriculture, lowland acid grassland, lowland meadow, woodland, lake and reedbeds; and public access via proposed public rights of way. Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Rolls Farm Lane, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Waltham Road to its junction with Noakes Farm Road, a distance of approximately 230m.



2. To temporarily close that length of Waltham Road, Terling in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Sparrows Farm Lane for a distance of approximately 135m in a northeasterly direction.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close those various lengths of roads in the District of Braintree, as detailed in the Schedule.



2. To temporarily introduce a 30mph speed limit in the various lengths of road as detailed in the Schedule.



3. A temporary 'No Waiting' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the various lengths of roads as specified in the schedule for the duration of the restrictions in order to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.



4. "The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (Consolidation) Order 2008" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.



To temporarily suspend the 7.5t weight limits in both Coldnailhurst Avenue and Churchill Road for the duration of these works as detailed in "The Essex County Council "Various Roads, Braintree) (Weight Restriction) Order 1990".

The works are scheduled to commence on 12/08/2019, or where stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on

. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while superfast installation cabling works are undertaken by Gigaclear.

The Order will come into effect on 12/09/2019 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
