Notice of Making of an Order Highways Act 1980 Public Path Extinguishment Order 2020 Footpath 48 Ardleigh
The above order, made on 29 April 2020, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the entire length of Footpath 48 Ardleigh of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the Order Map commencing from a point where it meets Colchester Road running in a generally southerly direction for a total distance of 171 metres along property driveways and through a property garden to a point where it connects to the public highway known as Green Lane.

This order revokes 'The Essex County Council (Tendring District) (Restricted Roads) (No.4) Order 2008' insofar as it relates to roads at the Parish of Great Bentley only (the other restrictions in aforementioned order will continue in force). The Great Bentley restrictions will then continue in force by virtue of this new order.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the Borough of Colchester as specified in the schedule to this Order.

2. A temporary 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 13th August 2020, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
