(FOOTPATH 99 (CINDER PATH) LEIGH-ON-SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2020 SUSPENSION DUE TO THE COVID19 PANDEMIC NOTICE 2021 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
The Council is satisfied that these restrictions are required owing to the danger to the public of gathering or promenading in groups on the affected roads or public open spaces following the advice of the Government of
the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in respect of social distancing during the COVID19
(coronavirus) emergency. Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any access for pedestrians on Footpath 99 (Cinder Path) from Chalkwell Esplanade to High Street (Old Leigh) This also includes access from Gypsy Bridge.
The Order will come into effect on 8th February 2021 and may continue in force for 6 months or where appropriate signs are showing.
The closure & suspension is required for the safety of the public
due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time
and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the
TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004
