THE A120 AND A12 TRUNK ROADS (MARKS TEY, ESSEX) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS) ORDER 201_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A120 and A12 Trunk Roads in Essex to allow for bridge joint replacement, installation of dropped kerbs, renewal of road markings, relocation of lit signs, removal of concrete bollards and routine maintenance works to be carried out in safety. The works are expected to take place over approximately 2 weeks (8pm-6am) commencing on or after Monday 23 October 2017. The works would be carried out using a combination of carriageway and slip road closures. A temporary mandatory speed limit would be in force in the interest of safety.
The effect of the Order would be to -
1. Impose for 24 hours daily, a speed limit of 30 miles per hour on the -
- A120 eastbound carriageway from Marks Tey roundabout to the Prince of Wales roundabout, and
- A12 southbound exit slip road at J25.
2. close the A120 -
- eastbound carriageway from the A12 northbound entry slip road, to the Prince of Wales roundabout - traffic would be diverted to continue eastbound and join the A12 northbound via J25, then head north to J26 Eight Ash Green to exit, turn around and join the A12 southbound back to J25 to exit and rejoin the A120 at the Prince of Wales roundabout and continue on their journey.
- westbound carriageway from the Prince of Wales roundabout, to Marks Tey roundabout - traffic would be diverted to join the A12 southbound at J25, heading south the J24 to exit, turn around and join the A12 northbound back to J25 to exit and rejoin the A120 at Marks Tey roundabout and continue on their journey.
Access to footways on Marks Tey overbridge to the Prince of Wales roundabout would be restricted throughout the works. Pedestrians would be diverted eastbound via North Lane to the pedestrian crossing over the A120 and then via the footbridge over the A12 to London Road and the Prince of Wales roundabout, vice versa for westbound. The temporary mandatory speed limits (which would not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles), closures (which would not apply to emergency service, traffic officer, works or winter maintenance vehicles) and diversion route would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
THE A120 TRUNK ROAD (CROWN INTERCHANGE, ESSEX) (TEMPORARY 50 MILES PER HOUR SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 201_
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the A120 Trunk Road in Essex to enable bridge works and routine maintenance at Crown Interchange to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to last for approximately 5 weeks (8pm-6am) starting on, or after, Monday 23 October 2017.
The effect of the Order would be to impose a 50 miles per hour speed limit, in conjunction with lane closures and traffic signal control, on the A120 -
- eastbound carriageway from 200 metres east of the exit slip road to the A1232 roundabout at Crown Interchange to 300 metres east of the A137 Colchester Road (Fox Street) overbridge, Ardleigh, and
- westbound carriageway from 265 metres west of the A137 Colchester Road (Fox Street) overbridge, Ardleigh to the exit slip road to the A1232 roundabout at Crown Interchange.
The temporary mandatory speed limit (which would not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles) would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
These Orders would come into force on 16 October 2017 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
