Notice of Confirmation of an Order Highways Act 1980 – Section 119 Footpath 8 Dengie District of Maldon Public Path Diversion Order
The above Order confirmed on 12th February, 2018 will divert a
part length of public Footpath 8 Dengie in the District of Maldon,
commencing from north of the footbridge over the Asheldham
Brook and running in a north westerly direction across field and
over two drainage channels to an alternative route commencing at the
same above point and running in a westerly direction alongside the
Asheldham Brook for a distance of 150 metres and then in a generally
north westerly direction along the existing track for a distance of 840
metres, then in a westerly direction for a distance of 150 metres and
finally in a northerly direction along the existing track for
approximately 300 metres to the same above point where it continues
unaffected to its termination at Landwick Cottages in Dengie.
A copy of the Order and Order Map have been placed in and may be
seen free of charge at Maldon District Council Offices, Princes Road,
CM9 5DL and at the Chelmsford Public Library, Market Road,
Chelmsford during normal working hours. Copies of the Order and
Order map are available on request from the Chelmsford Library at
a charge.
The new path at Dengie has already come into effect. However, if any
person aggrieved by an order, wants to question its validity, or that of
any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the
powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that
any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made
under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he
or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by
paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date of
this Notice, make an application to the High Court.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made
the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Mayland
Green, Mayland in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately
70m northwest of its junction with Steeple Road for a distance of
approximately 17m in a northwesterly direction. The closure is
scheduled to commence on 5th March 2018 for 5 days, or where
stated on a valid permit (EC30034783035 – UK Power Networks).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs
showing and/or displayed on www.roadworks.org. The closure is
required for the safety of the public and workforce while electric
connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Steeple Road, Nipsells Chase and
vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 15th February 2018 and may continue
in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed,
whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of
Traffic & Clearway) (No.1)
Order 2018
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made
the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the various lengths of road in the District of
Maldon as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both
sides of carriageway on the above lengths of roads for the duration
of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed
indicating when the No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Permitted Parking Area
and Special Parking Area) (Consolidation) Order 2008” will be
temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Stopping at Any
Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting
restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions
and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and
Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month
period from 15th February 2018 exact dates will be specified on
http://roadworks.org/. The roads will be closed to facilitate each
phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained
for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each
location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via
letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
