FIREFIGHTERS rescued the driver of a car which fell into the River Avon.
The vehicle left the road and went down an embankment after hitting a bridge while travelling along the B4069 at Christian Malford yesterday evening.
Fire crews from Royal Wootton Bassett and Chippenham were called to the scene at 7.40pm before rescuing the driver with a winch.

Crews rescued the driver using their winch and tools.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance arrived at the scene and Wiltshire Police officers closed the road.
