A POET shared his rhymes with schoolchildren to mark National Poetry Day.
Leo Aylen spent time reading poems and stories to pupils at the De La Salle School, in Ghyllgrove, Basildon.
Teacher Stuart Wright, who organised the event, said: “‘It was wonderful for all the pupils to see how poetry can be brought to life on stage and performed.
“The pupils really enjoyed the experience.”
Mr Aylen’s visit came just days after author Stephen Bowkett visited the school to spend a day reading his stories to youngsters including The Double Dare Gang and Allotment Ghost and other adventures.
