AN artist from Westcliff has won the runner up prize in the prestigious Lynn Painter-Stainer’s annual art competition.

Benjamin Andreas won £1,500 for his entry, Hoxton Square Daytime.

The exhibition features 139 works by some of the best UK painters, and was selected this year by artists Catharine Davison, Ken Howard OBE, James Lloyd and Sam Wadsworth as well as visiting research fellow at Tate Britain AndrewWilton.

The exhibition will run at Guildford House Gallery from June 25 to July 17.
