The Southend Council are hosting a free lunchtime recital with bass singer David Townend accompanied by Stephen King this November.
The two respected musicians will present a 45 minute programme of music by Finzi, Quilter and Ronald Law featuring Shakespeare in song on Wednesday November 16.
The concert, which starts at 12:15pm, will take place in the Council Chamber at Southend Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, Southend.
David is a former song man from Sheffield Cathedral who has performed widely across the UK and Europe. He will be joined by Stephen King, pianist and organist of Brentwood Cathedral.
These concerts give audience members the chance to hear high quality live music in the comfortable surroundings of the Council Chamber at Southend Civic Centre, and offer musicians a local performance platform.
This harmonious event is a continuation of the Council’s well-established recital series which has featured many excellent local performers over the year.
Admission is free with a retiring collection for the performers.
Next month’s concert, at 12:15pm on Wednesday 14th December features Bella Voce.
