REBECCA Gillieron, of Southend indie pop band the Plan, is very excited about this Saturday night.

As a long-term fan of former Gorky's Zygotic Mynci's frontman Euros Childs, she is thrilled that her band will be supporting him at the Railway Hotel, as part of his UK House Arrest Tour.

Euros Childs from Pembrokeshire in South Wales, has been a solo artist with 12 solo albums under his wing, since leaving Gorky's Zygotic Mynci in 2006.

His latest album House Arrest is due out this Friday on his own label, National Elf, which he set up so he "could never be dropped".

House Arrest was recorded by Stephen Black (aka Sweet Baboo) and Euros at Gus' Dungeon II in Cardiff.

The album includes an ode to a colander (My Colander) and songs about the joys of being in a coma (Happy Coma), cannibals dining at an all you can eat restaurant (Crystal and Misty), as well as directions to a whist drive (Whist Drive).

Euros plays all the instruments himself: ''I think around 12 or so keyboards were used in the end. Mostly brought in carboot sales and charity shops. One was found in a skip. They'd been hanging round the house for a long time – it was good to put them to use.''

The House Arrest tour is Euro's first in two years.

He says in recent years he has toured with a band but this time round "things will be different''.

"It'll be a keyboards and drum machine set up which will give me the chance to play material I've never played live before - more of the synthesizers based stuff. There'll be two of us onstage. I'm very much looking forward to it.''

It all takes place from 8pm until 11pm at the pub in Clifftown Road, Southend.

Tickets are £12 on the door or £10 in advance from Ticket Tailor at tickettailor.com
