Britain’s Got Talent has hit a high of 11.9 million viewers, making it the highest rated entertainment show of the year and ITV’s best rated show, according to new figures.
Saturday’s 11.9 million peak equals the EastEnders Live shows, where the killer of Lucy Beale was unmasked, as the most watched show of 2015 so far.
Saturday’s edition was also the third week in a row that BGT had broken through the 10 million barrier, according to the viewing figures by BARB, the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board.
The show pulled in 200,000 more viewers than the previous Saturday’s audience peak and had an average audience of 10.5 million viewers. This means that 400,000 more viewers tuned in for the show – the third in the series – than those who watched last week’s show and the corresponding episode last year.
ITV2′s Britain’s Got More Talent attracted an audience of 1.4 million and a peak of 1.6 million viewers.
