Jessica Alba has become one of America’s richest women, having built up a fortune of £130 million from non-toxic products.
The Sin City star launched The Honest Company, a collection of toxin-free household goods, nappies and body care products, in 2012 with business partner Chris Gavigan, which is now valued at 1 billion US dollars (£655,213,350).
The lifestyle business means the 34-year-old actress and entrepreneur, who owns between 15 percent and 20 percent of the company, has a personal fortune of 200 million US dollars (£130 million), reported Forbes.
Jessica’s nose for business has led her on the way to joining Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey and Madonna on the list of the US’ richest self-made women.
The idea for The Honest Company came about after the mother-of-two suffered allergies to mainstream branded products.
“I felt like my needs weren’t being met as a modern person. I want beautiful design like everybody else. But it shouldn’t be premium-priced, and it should, of course, be safe,” she said.
