Britney Spears has revealed that she almost drowned on a recent trip to Hawaii.
The pop star, who is preparing to release her ninth album, said that she was sucked under a large wave for several minutes.
“I went to Hawaii a couple of weeks ago,” she told Scott Mills on Radio 1.
“I thought it was like a wave pool, and I was like, ‘This is so nice and refreshing and just beautiful’.
“But the thing I didn’t think about is when you come back, the waves really come in hard.
“I got sucked under for like five minutes. Literally I almost drowned. And I’m like, ‘Where is my security? They’re just going to let me die here’.
“And then I came in again and another wave took me under.
“It was fun to say the least!
Brit also said that the one bit of advice she would give her younger self would be to avoid getting hitched.
The twice divorced pop star said: “Never get married, number one. That’s probably the best advice I could give myself.”
The interview with Scott will be aired on his Radio 1 show from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday.
