THEATRICAL talent has the chance for that first big break, as Solomon Artistes conducts auditions for its next production, Half a Sixpence.

Run by actor-director Ted Houser, Solomon is a long-established agency, which supplies actors and extras to professional productions. It also stages shows on a regular basis to give emerging talent the chance to shine. Previous productions have included Oliver!, Bugsy, Annie and High School Musical.

Ted says: “In the past, many successful performers have cut their teeth in our productions, which include coaching from an experienced director, choreographer and musical director.

“Our agency work down the years has provided many contacts with West End casting directors and agents and I’m proud many young members of my casts have gone on to enjoy successful careers on the West End stage and on TV.”

There are many parts available in Half a Sixpence for ages eight and above. Anyone attending auditions should have some singing, dancing and acting skills.

Ted says: “You don’t have to attend a stage school to be involved with Solomon Artistes productions, just have a love of the theatre and a willingness to learn.”

Auditions, costing £3, are on Sunday, October 8, at the Heycroft School, Eastwood. Recalls for the main roles will take place on Sunday, October 20. Rehearsals, lasting 16 weeks, begin on February 2, 2014, and cost £160.

Those interested should ring Ted Houser on 01702 437118.
