YOUNG songstress Emily Frith is returning to her hometown of Leigh to prepare for an intimate gig, backed by a band of quality musicians.

Tickets are strictly in advance due to the limited spaces available.

Emily, now 19, has been writing songs since she was just 11 years old and continues to put out releases, demonstrating an evolving style which has moved from country to pop.

She explained: "Last year, I released my debut EP and the sound was very inspired by the genre of country music. However the music I have released this year, and will continue releasing until the beginning of next year, is very much influenced by pop artists like Bea Miller, Taylor Swift and Jacob Whitesides.

"I moved to Norwich when I was 18 years old to study graphic design at university, and try to come back to Southend as much as I can, but it's rare for me to find the time to stay for long, which is why this gig is so important; it's Southend's chance to hear me live before I disappear back to university again until Christmas."

Emily Frith with Special Guests takes place on Friday November 23, at London Road Studios, in London Road.

Doors are at 7pm, music at 7:30pm.

Emily added: "Tickets are £5 each via Eventbrite and the gig is a celebration of my two new music releases - I released a single on August 24 and am releasing my next on November 17.

"Davey Hal, Rob Humm and Jess Selley are joining me on stage as my band for the evening.

"My support acts are baVard and Rooskin - two bands that feature some of my best friends and favourite talent."
