HART Brian Lawrence Passed away peacefully on Wednesday 22nd May 2024, aged 88 years. Brian was a dearly loved husband to Caryl, father to David and Gavin as well as a doting grandfather to Natasha, Callum, Ray, Mari and Louis and a great-grandfather to Ryan. He was a trained engineer, enjoying more than 20 years service in the Royal Air Force where he rose to the rank of sergeant and was a Chief Technician and skilled metalworker. In his latter years of service he trained sheet metal workers and, in 1977, was awarded a British Empire Medal for his service to the Crown. Retiring from the RAF, he embarked on a 20 year career in the NHS as a Senior Medical Physics technician at St. Bartholomew's hospital (Barts) in London. Forced into early retirement by Rheumatoid Arthritis, he enjoyed spending the next 25 years with his wife Caryl, helping his family and creating a beautiful garden. Brian was a kind, caring man with a strong moral compass and sense of duty who will be sorely missed by all who knew him and continue to keep him in their hearts. Brian's funeral service will be held at Basildon and District Crematorium & Cemetery, Church Road, Bowers Gifford, Basildon, SS13 2HG at 10.30am on Tuesday 11th June, 2024.
