Police are appealing for witnesses after two houses next door to each other were targeted by burglars.
Two properties in Abbey Path, Laindon, were targeted on December 22, between 10.30am and 1am on December 23.
Entry was not gained to the first house, but damage was caused to the front door.
Entry to the second was gained by smashing the double-glazed rear French doors.
A brand new 62-registered Hyundai Active was stolen after burglars found the car keys. Also taken was jewellery, a computer, a digital camera and an iPad.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Dc Jenna Thompson at Basildon CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
