ARTWORK and limited edition designer t-shirts to commemorate the release of David Bowie’s latest album have been stolen.

The haul, worth £165,000, was swiped by thieves from a lorry parked in London Road, West Thurrock.

It included a unique African painting, required for the launch of the rock star’s latest album The Next Day, as well as limited edition t-shirts.

Designed by British label Paul Smith, each t-shirt features a unique one-off pattern. Trouseres and shoes, also designed by Paul Smith, were among the items taken.

Police are now probing the theft and an £800 reward is being offered for information leading to the safe, undamaged return of the painting.

Witnesses to the theft, which happened at 1pm on Tuesday March 5, can contact PC Hardingham at Grays police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
