A BASILDON building firm is well and truly made up in Chelsea after winning a prestigious contract.

Be Sure Building Maintenance Service, in Paycock Mews, has secured a £190,000 contract to renovate posh apartments in the west London suburb.

It’s a real coup for the firm, whose job will involve improving the look of a seven-storey apartment block just a stone’s throw from homes owned by billionaires, such as Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich.

The work will help create an extra 13 jobs for the company.

Managing director, Andy Garwood, said: “We have some big local authority clients and like many businesses we suffered in the recession.

“But things are looking up now and we are really pleased we have won such a prestigious contract.”

For the work on the Chelsea building, which houses about 100 people, all the balconies and windows will be repaired and redecorated, improving the overall look of the building, and exterior rendering will be carried out.

Mr Garwood said: “Our bread and butter work is in Essex, but to get a job somewhere like Chelsea is really good for us.”
