THERE has been travel woe on trains this morning for c2c passengers following level crossing problems between Stanford-le-Hope and East Tilbury.
Three crossings became stuck due to a power failure about 7.15am leaving many stranded on either side of the platforms unable to get their train.
Trains have been running at a reduced speed in the area, and others have been cancelled and diverted at short notice because of the problem. The issue is expected to continue well into the evening.
Crossing barriers at East Tilbury and Stanford-le-Hope are being lifted manually There is currently a rail replacement bus running between Pitsea and Stanford-le-Hope.
Passengers have been taking to twitter to voice their anger at today’s upheaval.
Scott Nelson tweeted: “What's going on here? Your service is rapidly deteriorating! #NotGoodEnough”
Lauren Price said: “Yet again we’re stuck at the East Tilbury level crossing with no trains since 7:27 and we'll now miss our next train. Cheers.”
