DOZENS of history lovers descended on Canvey to find out about the First World War.
Volunteers staged an exhibition of memorabilia at the Heritage Centre, in Canvey Way.
Everything from weapons to medals, wartime clothing and posters were able to be seen.
People were invited to learn more about the artefacts, with volunteers explaining what they had been used for and any research into who the pieces might have belonged to.
Interest in the First World War is at a peak with it being the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the conflict.
Volunteer David Thorndike said it had been a great success.
