A MAN died three weeks after injuring his foot in a lawnmower accident, an inquest heard.
David Mason, 68, was staying with a friend at his home in Woodcote Road, Leigh, when he began to feel unwell.
His temperature went from hot to cold before he fell unconscious. The court heard he died there on August 17.
Chelmsford Coroners Court was told on July 26 he had been involved in an accident while using a lawnmower and had cut open his foot.
He was discharged from hospital on August 12.
A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as deep vein thrombosis caused by the foot injury.
Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said: βIt all seems to go back to the accident with the lawn mower.β
The case was adjourned awaiting a statement from the consultant who cared for Mr Mason.
